How Payments Work at Waffle Video
Last Updated: January 28th, 2025
At Waffle Video, we believe creators should be paid fairly and transparently for their work.
Here’s how it works:
Mission Pay
Each mission lists a specific pay rate. You’ll earn that rate for every hour of approved video submission you upload that meets mission requirements.
All mission pay rates are displayed in the Waffle Video app.
Revenue Share (Passive Income)
In addition to mission pay described above, you’ll earn 30% of gross revenue from any future relicensing of the dataset that includes your approved videos.
- You complete Mission 1 and earn $18/hour for approved videos. That dataset is licensed to Company A.
- Later, Company B relicenses the same dataset for $60/hour. You earn $18/hour from that relicensing (30% of $60).
- If Company C also relicenses it for $60/hour, you earn another $18/hour, and so on.
Your 30% revenue share applies for 5 years from your upload date.
The more companies that license your work, the more you earn – creating a stream of long-term passive income for the high-quality footage you create.
We’re committed to licensing our community’s videos to as many partners as possible, so your work continues to pay you, over and over again.
What Makes Videos “High Quality” and More Likely to Be Approved?
Technical Quality:
- 1080p resolution minimum
- Steady footage (use a tripod or stable surface)
- Good lighting (need to be able to see subject)
- Clear focus on the subject
Content Requirements:
- Matches the mission description exactly
- No brand logos or trademarks visible
- No copyrighted artwork, posters, or designs
- No screens (TV, phone, laptop) showing content
- No identifiable people (unless you have permission to film them per our terms of service)

How Payments Work with Tipalti
Payment Schedule
Payments are processed automatically twice a month—on the 1st and 15th—based on your pending balance and payment threshold.
What Are Payment Thresholds?
Think of thresholds as the minimum amount you need to earn before we can process a payment. These thresholds cover the processing fees charged by our payment provider, Tipalti, which vary by payment method.
How It Works
On each payment date (1st or 15th), we automatically pay everyone whose balance meets or exceeds their threshold. If your balance is below your threshold, don’t worry—your earnings carry over and keep accumulating until the next payment cycle when you reach the minimum.
Important to Know
- Payments happen automatically on scheduled dates only—there’s no option to withdraw funds on demand
- The processing fee is deducted from your payment
